New noncommercial descent towers will replace the existing towers in the inner city of Oslo.
The towers are comprised of a sleek inner cylinder, wrapped by an open exterior skin.
The core relate relates to the hard elements of the city, such as covering, paving and facades, while the outer layer takes inspiration from furnishing, metal elements (balconies, gates) and more modern parts of the urban landscape.
The outer layer is perceived as visually open and is designed to have a different visual impact when seen up close and from afar. Calm and diffused at a distance, and with a playful variation at close range.
In cooperation with architect Camilla Hovland.
